Hanne Vandenbroucke joined imec-SMIT, Vrije Universiteit Brussel in May 2023 as a PhD researcher within the Media Economics and Policy unit. Her research focuses on the intricate dynamics related to the adoption of news recommender systems and personalization by news publishers in the small media markets. Through the lens of media economics and media management, her research examines the strategic approaches to implementing news recommender systems (NRS) and the impacts of these technologies on news consumption patterns.
