emma Talk: Redefining Creativity: AI’s Promise and Peril for Media Industries

On January 28th at 5 pm CEST we are happy to invite you to join our #emmaTalk
Redefining Creativity: AI’s Promise and Peril for Media Industries”.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the creative and media industries, driving innovation while raising important questions about productivity, workforce dynamics and the future of creativity. As AI tools become an integral part of the creative process, they are challenging traditional approaches and creating new opportunities and uncertainties. This #emmaTalk explores the profound impact of AI on the creative landscape and examines its potential to redefine how value is created, shared and sustained in these industries. The talk will first present recent work and research results from within the emma community, with different perspectives and foci. We will then discuss what perspectives emerge from this work and what unaddressed areas of research might be relevant for collaborative research among emma researchers.

Alexander Connock: University of Oxford: AI-impact on the creative industry: Do we know anything?

Sabine Baumann – Berlin School of Economics and Law / Gillian Doyle – University of Glasgow: AI’s impact on creative work: Is AI a cure for Baumol’s disease?

Stephan Böhm – RheinMain University: AI impact on the media workforce – insights from a preliminary industry study.
